Background...
Tamika is passionate about working with children (age 5 and up), teens and adults who are experiencing trauma, complex trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, stress and phase of life issues.
Her path to becoming a therapist began with her own journey of addressing unhealthy patterns that often left her feeling “stuck” and were rooted in negative generational patterns within her family. Tamika considers herself a cycle-breaker and has a passion to help others peel back the layers of shame, hurt, dysfunction and brokenness, in order to see themselves more fully so that they can truly thrive.
Tamika’s methods of treatment include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, and other evidence-based practices but she believes in a flexible approach that is adjusted to best meet each individuals’ needs and goals.
Tamika is from the DFW area. She received her Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University at Commerce.
